Here you will find the most interesting events taking place in October in the Var department and along the Côte d’Azur. With the softer colours of autumn, pleasantly mild days and the summer crowds beginning to disappear, October is an excellent month for discovering major sporting events, local traditions, music and seasonal celebrations, as also highlighted in our Gulf of Saint-Tropez travel guide.

1–4 October 2026, SAINT-TROPEZ – Les Voiles de Saint-Tropez enter their spectacular final days, with classic yachts, modern racing boats and maxi yachts competing in the Gulf while the Village des Voiles keeps the port lively with entertainment and live music.

2–12 October 2026, TOULON – Fête de la Science offers a varied programme of free events, workshops and encounters exploring science, creativity and gastronomy, with the 2026 edition centred around the theme “Saveurs Savantes”.

7–11 October 2026, FRÉJUS – Roc d’Azur CIC returns for its 42nd edition, bringing thousands of cyclists and outdoor-sports enthusiasts to the Base Nature and the spectacular landscapes of the Maures and Estérel, with mountain biking, gravel, cycling and trail events alongside a major exhibition village.

9–10 October 2026, BRIGNOLES – Drôles de Chouettes brings two evenings of comedy and entertainment to the Hall des Expositions, including a gala dinner-show.

10 October 2026, FRÉJUS – Les Itinérantes perform at the Villa Aurélienne as part of the Sacrée Musique season, with the acclaimed female a cappella trio exploring nine centuries of music in an atmospheric historic setting.

10–11 October 2026, SAINT-TROPEZ – Paradis Porsche brings more than 500 Porsche cars to Saint-Tropez for one of the town’s great autumn motoring gatherings, with the harbour providing a spectacular backdrop.

11, 18 & 25 October 2026, COLLOBRIÈRES – The famous Fêtes de la Châtaigne celebrate one of the Massif des Maures’ emblematic products over three autumn Sundays, with local producers, artisan stalls, roasted chestnuts, regional specialities and traditional entertainment.

12–17 October 2026, SAINT-TROPEZ – The Cape 31 Gold Cup brings another international sailing competition to the Gulf of Saint-Tropez, continuing the town’s exceptional autumn sailing season.

18 October 2026, SAINT-TROPEZ – Saint-Tropez Classic takes runners through the port, old town and towards Les Salins on 8 km and 16 km courses before finishing in the heart of the village.

18 October 2026, FRÉJUS – Festival Authentique Vintage transforms the Base Nature into a retro celebration with more than 150 exhibitors, classic vehicles, music and food trucks.

18 & 25 October 2026, LA GARDE-FREINET – Fête de la Châtaigne celebrates the chestnut harvest with local chestnuts, regional products, roasted chestnuts and traditional entertainment in this characteristic village of the Massif des Maures.

22–25 October 2026, SAINTE-MAXIME – Magic Show takes over the big top at the Théâtre de la Mer during the autumn school holidays, with five performances designed for both children and adults.

23–25 October 2026, SAINT-TROPEZ – The Grande Braderie de Saint-Tropez is one of the town’s most eagerly awaited annual events, attracting tens of thousands of visitors for three days of shopping and special offers throughout the town centre.

26–31 October 2026, FRÉJUS – Fréjus celebrates Halloween with a week of family activities and seasonal entertainment throughout its historic centre.
