Here you will find the most interesting events taking place in September in the Var department and along the Côte d’Azur. As the busy summer season gradually gives way to the softer days of early autumn, September brings an appealing mix of music festivals, Provençal traditions, major sporting events and cultural celebrations, as also highlighted in our Gulf of Saint-Tropez travel guide.

4–5 September 2026, BORMES-LES-MIMOSAS – Festival du Moulin brings two evenings of folk, indie, jazz and rock music to the atmospheric medieval village, with free concerts and food trucks.

5–6 September 2026, COGOLIN – Fête du Coq, one of the traditional highlights marking the end of summer, with two days of Provençal traditions, music, entertainment and open-air performances.

11–13 September 2026, CALLIAN – The 38th Festival des Quatuors à Cordes brings renowned string quartets and classical music performances to the beautiful Pays de Fayence.

12–13 September 2026, BRIGNOLES – Biennale de la Jupe Piquée, a celebration of traditional Provençal costume and craftsmanship in the historic town.

16–20 September 2026, TOULON & HYÈRES – Festival Constellations combines contemporary dance, music, visual arts and performances in theatres, public squares, on beaches and in other unexpected locations.

17–20 September 2026, LE CASTELLET – The legendary Bol d’Or takes over Circuit Paul Ricard for the finale of the FIM Endurance World Championship, with 24-hour motorcycle racing, exhibitions, concerts and a large motorcycle village.

18–20 September 2026, FRÉJUS – Festival International de l’Air fills the skies above the Base Nature François Léotard with spectacular kites, giant airborne creations and demonstrations by enthusiasts from around the world.

19 September 2026, TOULON – Toulon celebrates 400 years of French naval history with a spectacular sound-and-light concert at Fort Lamalgue, combining the Music of the French Navy, archive images and an immersive historical presentation.

20 September 2026, LA ROQUE-ESCLAPON – Fête de la Patate, a traditional village celebration in the Haut-Var centred around local produce, conviviality and Provençal rural traditions.

26–27 September 2026, SAINTE-MAXIME – Sainte-Maxime Rêves Auto transforms the town centre into a huge open-air exhibition with more than 250 prestigious and classic cars and motorcycles, exhibitors, concerts and a concours d’élégance.

26 September–4 October 2026, SAINT-TROPEZ – Les Voiles de Saint-Tropez brings around 250 classic yachts, modern racing boats and spectacular maxi yachts together for one of the Mediterranean’s great sailing events, accompanied by a lively programme ashore.
